Plant Manager – Energy from Waste

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol
Salary: Up to £95,000 per annum

This is a unique opportunity to join a market-leading organisation as a Plant Manager, where you will take full ownership of site performance, lead a multidisciplinary team, and help deliver high levels of efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.

The Opportunity

As Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a state-of-the-art Energy from Waste facility in the Avonmouth area. This high-impact leadership position will give you the autonomy to shape performance outcomes and build on a strong safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and operational leadership to the site team
Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring full compliance with all legislative and internal policies
Manage the site's Profit & Loss, including budget planning, forecasting, and cost control
Maximise plant reliability, efficiency, and availability through structured asset management
Drive continuous improvement across operations, maintenance, and compliance
Ensure delivery of key performance targets, both operational and financial
Develop and mentor high-performing teams, fostering collaboration across departments

Requirements:

Proven senior leadership experience in a complex, technical industrial environment
Strong knowledge of power generation, EfW, biomass, waste, or petrochemical operations
Ability to manage large teams and influence across multiple stakeholders
Sound understanding of site-level budgeting, reporting, and cost optimisation
A solid technical understanding of plant maintenance, engineering systems, and safety standards
A strong focus on performance, people development, and operational excellence
